11.22.08 is Julie & Bernie’s Wedding Date & it was an incredibly gorgeous day… very very cold gorgeous day! Julie has some fabulous taste - when she mailed me her invite, I knew her wedding would be out of control. Really, I should photograph her invite & just blog that. Details! Details! Bad daddy details!! Julie got ready at her sister’s house while Bernie got ready at his brother’s house in Raleigh, and they met at Sacred Heart in downtown to exchange their vows. For now… check out her dress. Due to the dark room her dress was hanging, it’s hard here to see the color, but her dress was a very unusual color & I LOVED it.. not to mention the Manolo shoes.
I love that splash of pink around her waist
And the beautiful pendant
It was so sweet to see Julie’s mom gushing over her when she wasn’t looking
Meanwhile, Ken was with the guys… and lobster bibs over at Sadlock’s Heroes on Hillsborough Street. Go PACK!!
Sacred Heart now has their couples walk down the aisle together. I think it’s a beautiful thing
A perfect ray of light hit their hands as the waited for the church doors to open
She’s so pretty!! And so happy!
Gimme some more of that light would ya’!!
Their reception was at Capital City Club which is gorgeous and they had the awesome DJ Joe Bunn there leading the Part-tay
I just like the light here
Did I mention, GO PACK!

Unfortunately I was not the wedding photographer for Aeriel & Matt, but VERY fortunately I was their “Day After” photographer!! YES!! Technically it wasn’t the day after their wedding, but we did spend an entire afternoon getting some amazing shots of them in their wedding get up. I haven’t done one of these in a long time, and I’m pretty sure I was more excited about it than even she was (which, she referred to it as her Christmas… which I guess would make me an elf..). Anyways, you can ask anyone - there is nothing I love photographing more than couples. And on the actual wedding day, there typically isn’t anymore than 15-20 minutes of couple time allowed which always frustrates me a little. SO, having a full afternoon of couple time was awesome!!
So, obviously we started at the grocery store. Where else would we start?!
Yep - that’s right. It’s was pouring down raining. I adore this shot
And this is where it also became a Trash the Dress - this hunk of junk left a huge black spot on her dress. Did that stop us?!
This was the cleanest tattoo parlor I’ve ever seen. It was disappointingly clean!!
I had so much fun with these two because they are very silly like me. So, when I asked for a serious shot
This was the reaction
By far my favorite shot of the day!! haha!! This just happened & I almost peed myself I laughed so hard.
The wind was our friend
delicious
Aeriel is so incredibly natural & intense in front of the camera. Fierce!!
The “Hallelujah it’s Over!!” hug
It was a long afternoon of shooting for them, but I had an amazing time & I think it was well worth it!!
