Meghan & Chuck are by NO means an ordinary couple. It’s been a touching experience getting to know the two of them.. Meghan & Chuck are bad daddy pilots of really huge fighter planes.. I can never ever remember which ones, but they’re big ‘uns! I was supposed to meet Meghan a couple of times before the wedding, but the meeting was postponed once or twice because she had to suddenly fly out. They have crazy insane schedules, but somehow were able to find one another and maintain a beautiful relationship. I had to do their engagement session the Thursday before their wedding because they had no opportunity to see one another 5 months before their wedding, much less meet up to do an engagement session. They have had some amazing experiences as pilots.. like Meghan was circling over Baghdad when Saddam met his maker. I mean, wild stuff!! But, they don’t get to spend much time together and it’s just amazing how they are so dedicated to one another amidst very challenging circumstances. More to come when I show off their wedding…
So, even though it was raining, we went with it!
What an amazingly beautiful pair… look at their eyes!
Despite the rain, the cold, & the hunk of junk place I photographed them, they were so at ease and genuine with one another
I love capturing the little things that couples naturally do
Another natural thing they do together… haha.. Thanks you two for a great afternoon out!!

Today when I woke up I was amazed to realize that Christmas is all over & very very soon 2009 will be here! It was an awesome Christmas for me & mine, and I’m really hoping it was great for everyone reading this. This year was the first year that Santa came to my house for Diego & Victor… it was VERY exciting! Diego woke up super excited… I thought he was going to run in yelling about santa, but instead he came in yelling for cookies. Oh well.. once he made the trip downstairs, cookies were the last thing on his mind. Here’s the last of my family stuff for now & soon I’ll actually post some photography goodies!
Play dough was at the top of the list for Santa to bring. He didn’t disappoint!
Diego hanging with his buddy Diego
Victor is 100% trouble. And now he has a bat… EEEKKKSSS!

So, after having an amazing Christmas, I’ve also been gifted with two little things that have made me smile! First of all, Culture Pilot created a beautiful new ad for the Weddings Magazine that I advertise in. Not only that, the wonderful editor of Weddings, Robyn Mangrum, asked if I could photograph an Eco-Friendly shower which they have showcased in the magazine. Since I always photograph people, I have to admit it was challenging for me to have objects in front of me. Believe it or not there’s a completely different science to photographing objects, but I think it turned out ok. If you want any magazines, let me know because they sent me about 100 of them!! Or just check out the magazine online: www.weddings-magazine.com
ALSO, once again all because of the amazing Culture Pilot, the shopping cart portion of my website is featured on the Red Cart website - along with two of my buddies Dan Klutz & Ken Luallen. Obviously I think it looks awesome, but I’ve been so flattered that my site was chosen to demonstrate their program… not that I had anything at all to do with it, but it’s still exciting!!
YEAH!!

There is nothing like Christmas to bring on the cheer!! I was with my mother yesterday & I told her that I haven’t felt like this at Christmas since I was a child. I have always enjoyed Christmas but there have been years where all the focus on shopping & presents & more shopping have tainted my Christmas spirit. But this year my three year old Diego is understanding it all and it just makes it all so exciting! From getting a real tree for the first time to seeing my boys’ eyes light up in Toys R Us - it just thrills me so much! I’m having a really awesome time, and my tiny tots have been such a blessing to me.
This year my mom made all three of her grandchildren aprons to help her bake cookies for Christmas. My two boys loved it and my incredibly beautiful niece had a fun time too! My mother doesn’t feel photo worthy, but it’s just too precious not to post this picture!! I think she looks BEAUTIFUL.
Look at all of those hands!! AHH!!! I LOVE it!!
I really hope I’m not ruining the surprise, but would you get a load of my 12 year old niece?!?!
It’s been a surreal thing to witness a little girl develop into a such a stunning young lady
Wow.. No wonder my 3 year old put her on his Santa’s list. He really really loves her!!

It’s very seldom I blog personal things… I just very seriously doubt the “me” factor will be a great thing for evoke at times. But I want to show you more… I probably shouldn’t start with my melancholic side. But geez… do you ever just have times in your life that… just don’t mesh. For months I’ve been struggling and I just can’t rise above this funk. I’m enjoying my business, but my personal life has been set to the side for quite a while in attempts to raise two children and build a business… and I’m just lost. I believe in the Lord, but being a Christian and behaving like one is such a fierce battle for me. I can’t get my inside to match the outside. I just feel out of focus. I don’t know who’s reading this and I don’t know what you believe - but I know there’s a God in heaven and He knows I’m struggling. And I know my knees are where I need to be, because there’s only grace there. That seems so clear, and yet I stand all day.
It’s early for a New Year’s resolution, but I can’t stand another week like this. Like me. It’s time for a change, right?!
